Sunday Traditional Worship Services (8 am & 10 am)

Join us on Sundays for a meaningful time of worship and community at Sterling Wesley UMC. Our traditional services at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM are centered on scripture, prayer, and inspiring sermons, accompanied by beloved hymns that uplift the soul. The 8:00 AM service offers a serene and intimate atmosphere, while the 10:00 AM service welcomes a larger gathering with vibrant energy and children’s programming available. Both services provide a sacred space to connect with God and one another as we celebrate faith, hope, and love. All are welcome!

Delve deeper into scripture with us each Wednesday! This group offers a relaxed, supportive environment to discuss the Bible and explore its relevance today. No matter your experience with Bible study, you’re encouraged to join, share, and learn together with us.
 

Men’s Bible Study (Sat. 8 a.m., Fireside Room)

Start your weekend with fellowship and reflection at the Men’s Bible Study. We gather every Saturday morning to dig into scripture, share life’s challenges, and encourage one another in our faith journeys. It’s a meaningful way to connect and grow. All men are welcome!
 

Handbell Choir (Wed. 5:15 p.m., Sanctuary)

For music lovers who want to contribute their talents, the Handbell Choir brings beauty to our worship services. Whether you’re a seasoned ringer or a beginner interested in learning, we’d love for you to join. It’s a harmonious way to serve and make joyful music together!
 
 
 
 

The 5th Sunday Potluck (Every 5th Sunday)

Join us for our 5th Sunday Potluck—a time to gather, share delicious food, and connect with one another! Bring a favorite dish to share, and enjoy a meal filled with fellowship and warmth. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, catch up with familiar faces, and celebrate our church family together. All are welcome!
 

Card Ministry (First Thursday of the Month, Fellowship Hall)

A heartfelt way to reach out! The Card Ministry gathers monthly to write and send cards to those who are sick, homebound, or celebrating milestones. It’s a simple yet impactful way to brighten someone’s day. Join us and help spread a little joy!
 

Prayer Shawl Ministry

We weave warmth and love into every prayer shawl we create. Each shawl is made with care and given to those in need of comfort. If you enjoy knitting or crocheting, or would like to learn, join us as we bring encouragement and hope through handmade gifts.
 
 
Knitting & Crocheting Group (Every Tues. 2 p.m., Fireside Room)
Craft, connect, and create in our weekly Knitting and Crocheting Group. Whether you’re experienced or new to the craft, you’re welcome to join us for a time of fellowship and creativity. It’s a relaxing way to spend time with others and make something beautiful!
 

Wesley Workout (Tues. & Thurs. at 3:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall)

Come and join us for fitness and fellowship! Everyone is welcome, and there is no charge, only a free-will offering to the church. The group meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30 in the Activity Hall. The class includes standing, sitting, floor exercises, and stretching. Bring an exercise mat or rug, and wear comfortable clothing.
 
 
 
 

Matthew’s Group (Children’s Ministry)

Each Sunday morning, children can participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child is able to participate and learn. A wonderful opportunity for kids to learn about faith in a fun, engaging way! Through stories, games, and crafts, we nurture our children’s spiritual growth and love for Jesus. Volunteers are always welcome to make this ministry impactful and memorable. Join us in shaping young hearts!

5th Saturday Service Project: Sauk Valley Food Bank

Serving at the Sauk Valley Food Bank allows us to be the hands and feet of Christ by supporting those in need. Join us as we pack and distribute food to our neighbors, helping to create a more caring and compassionate community.
 

Habitat for Humanity (Twice a Year)

Help make a difference in our community by joining us in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. We come together to build homes, hope, and stronger neighborhoods. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves for a great cause, join us for one of our build days!
